REPORT OF A TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT THAT WAS CONDUCTED IN MAY, 1976, TO ASSESS THE LEGAL INFORMATION NEEDS OF MONTANA AND ITS AVAILABLE RESOURCES TO DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY FO DEVELOPING THE INFORMATION SERVICE.
Abstract
THIS PROJECT WAS UNDERTAKEN IN RESPONSE TO A PROBLEM THAT MONTANA FACES BECAUSE MUCH OF THE STATE IS RURAL. THE RURAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE STAFFS ARE FACED WITH A LACK OF ADEQUATE AND REASONABLY ACCESSIBLE RESEARCH FACILITIES. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT MONTANA ADOPT A PROGRAM SIMILAR TO NEBRASKA'S CREIGHTON LEGAL INFORMATION CENTER, AND THAT IT BE USED IN MONTANA WITH ONLY MINOR VARIATIONS. THE REPORT TEXT IS SUPPLEMENTED BY AN APPENDIX CONTAINING RELEVANT MATERIAL AND INFORMATION CONCERNING THE CREIGHTON LEGAL INFORMATION CENTER. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)...KAP
