REPORT, DATED OCTOBER 1974, OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE OFFERED TO THE COURT FOR GUIDANCE IN DEVELOPING A STATE-WIDE AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR USE IN TRIAL COURTS.
Abstract
THERE ARE 12 JUDGES ON THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS SERVING A COUNTY OF APPROXIMATELY 700,000 PEOPLE. OTHER COUNTIES IN PENNSYLVANIA HAVE DEVELOPED COMPUTERIZED SYSTEMS OF RECORDKEEPING; HOWEVER, IT IS THE COURT'S INTENTION TO CONSOLIDATE THESE AND FUTURE INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENTS TO AVOID DUPLICATE EXPENDITURES. ACCORDINGLY, THIS REPORT CONTAINS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL STATE-OWNED COMPUTER FOR SEVERAL COUNTIES, WITH EACH COUNTY HAVING ITS OWN MINI-COMPUTER TO PROCESS DATA LOCALLY....KAP
