Abstract
TWO REPORTS - ONE NORTH AMERICAN AND ONE EUROPEAN - ARE PRESENTED ON EACH SUBJECT, FOLLOWED BY REPORT COMMENTARIES AND A GENERAL DISCUSSION. THE PAPERS PRESENTED ON THE FIRST TOPIC DEAL WITH PRELIMINARY PROPOSALS FOR AN INTERNATIONAL CROSS-CULTURAL STUDY OF HOMICIDE, PARTICULARLY NATIONAL DIFFERENCES IN THE TREATMENT AND RELEASE OF HOMICIDE OFFENDERS, INCLUDING THOSE DIAGNOSED AS HAVING A MENTAL ILLNESS OR PERSONALITY DISORDER. THE SECOND GROUP OF PAPERS CONSIDERS THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF TREATMENT ORIENTED CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS. THE DISCUSSION OF OFFENDER DIAGNOSIS AND CLASSIFICATION COVERS THE EFFECT OF THE EVALUATION ON INMATE TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION AND USE OF A STANDARD FORM TO RECORD MULTIDISCIPLINARY DATA ON THE INCOMING INMATE. A COPY OF THE SEMINAR PROGRAM AND A LIST OF PARTICIPANTS ARE INCLUDED.
