THIS PUBLICATION PROVIDES GENERAL GUIDANCE ON MATTERS OF INSURANCE AND LIABILITY FOR ACCIDENTS, THEFTS, INJURIES, AND LEGAL SUITS INVOLVING VOLUNTEERS WORKING FOR PUBLIC ENTITIES.
Abstract
THE SPECIFIC AREAS COVERED LIABILITY FOR INJURY TO THIRD PARTIES WHERE USE OF AUTOMOBILE IS NOT INVOLVED, LIABILITY FOR AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENTS, SPECIAL PROBLEMS ENGENDERED BY THE GOVERNMENT CODE, INJURIES TO VOLUNTEERS, AND THEFT BY VOLUNTEERS. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT PUBLIC ENTITIES INCLUDE VOLUNTEERS ON THEIR COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC LIABILITY AND AUTOMOBILE LIABILITY POLICIES, THAT VOLUNTEERS BE INCLUDED ON WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION LAWS, AND THAT VOLUNTEERS BE INCLUDED IN THE ENTITY'S EMPLOYEE DISHONESTY BOND....DMC
