FINAL EVALUATION REPORT OF THE POLICE PATROL EMPHASIS PROJECT (PEP), WHICH SOUGHT TO IMPROVE POLICE PATROL EFFICIENCY BY UTILIZING SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES TO THE TRAINING AND DEPLOYMENT OF PATROL RESOURCES.
Abstract
THE PROJECT INVOLVED THE COLLECTION OF DATA AND THE DEVELOPMENT AND THE EVALUATION OF A RESOURCE ALLOCATION MODEL FOR DEPLOYMENT OF RESOURCES IN THE FOURTH AND SIXTH PRECINCTS OF THE CITY OF MINNEAPOLIS. THIS PROJECT ALSO CONTAINS A TRAINING AND MOTIVATIONAL COMPONENT DESIGNED TO STIMULATE IMPROVEMENT IN PERFORMANCE, EFFICIENCY, AND JOB SATISFACTION OF THE OFFICERS IN THE TWO LABORATORY PRECINCTS.
