Abstract
AN EXAMINATION OF WHAT MAY BE PUBLISHED DURING A TRIAL IS DISCUSSED THROUGH A HISTORICAL TRACE OF RELEVANT LAW. THE AUTHOR FINDS THE RIGHTS OF THE INDIVIDUAL DEFENDANT AFFORDED THE GREATEST BUT NOT COMPLETE PROTECTION. SPECIFIC CASES WHICH INVOLVE PUBLICATIONS INDUCING BIAS AND PREJUDICING ACCURATE DETERMINATION OF FACTS ARE DISCUSSED.
