Abstract
THE EVALUATION IS OF THE POLICE SUPERVISORY IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM (POSIT), AN UNDERGRADUATE COURSE AT PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY. THE JUDGEMENT WAS BASED ON THE WAY POSIT PARTICIPANTS VIEWED THEMSELVES AND IN THE WAY THEY VIEWED THEIR ROLE AS SUPERVISORS. A LIKES AND INTERESTS TEST WAS USED TO GAUGE PARTICIPANTS' ATTITUDES, WHICH IMPROVED WITH RESPECT TO A CLUSTER OF TRAITS LABELED LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE. A LACK OF CHANGE WAS FOUND AMONG THE SUPERVISORS IN LEADERSHIP MATURITY DUE TO ITS SLOW RATE OF CHANGE NOT MEASURABLE DURING THE BRIEF TRAINING PERIOD....BDS
