STUDY INVESTIGATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WESCHLER ADULT INTELLIGENCE SCALE (WAIS) SCORES AND SHIPLEY-HARTFORD (S-H) IQ SCORES TO DETERMINE THE PREDICTIVE VALUE OF THE S-H FOR A GROUP OF INMATES.
Abstract
THE WAIS AND THE S-H SCALE WERE ADMINISTERED TO 83 INMATES AT THE SHELBY COUNTY PENAL FARM, MEMPHIS (TN). INTERCORRELATIONS OF THE THREE SCALE SCORES FOR THE WAIS AND THE S-H SCORES REVEALED THAT THE S-H FULL SCALE SCORE CORRELATES HIGHLY (.84) AND THEREFORE ACCURATELY PREDICTS WAIS FULL SCALE AND VERBAL IQ, AND TO A LESSER DEGREE, THE WAIS PERFORMANCE.
