Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ONE FORM OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE, POLITICAL ASSASSINATION, AND VARIOUS ASPECTS OF SUBJECTIVE POLITICAL CULTURE, AS ASCERTAINED FOR 23 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD, ARE EXAMINED FOR THE PERIOD 1948-1968. JUXTAPOSED AGAINST THE ASSASSINATION DATA ARE MEASURES OF SUBJECTIVE POLITICAL CULTURE AS DRAWN FROM AN ATLAS OF AFFECTIVE MEANING, A COMPILATION OF SEMANTIC DIFFERENTIAL RATINGS USING EVALUATIVE, POTENCY, AND ACTIVITY SCALES FOR OVER 600 CONCEPTS....MSP
