Abstract
THE AUTHOR BEGINS BY CONSTRUCTING A WORKING DEFINITION OF TERRORISM. THE PAPER DEALS ONLY WITH TERRORIST GROUPS AND TERRORIST ACTS INSIDE OF COUNTRIES, AND NOT WITH INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGNS BY TERRORISTS. THE AUTHOR EXPLORES THE PATTERNS OF TERRORISM FROM 1961-70. SOME OF THESE INCLUDE KIDNAPPINGS AND ASSASSINATIONS. THE COUNTRIES WITHIN WHICH TERRORIST ACTS HAVE OCCURRED ARE LISTED BY REGION, TYPE OF REGIME, AND LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT. CHARACTERISTICS OF TERRORISTS GROUPS INCLUDE CONVENTIONAL POLITICAL GROUPS, CLANDESTINE POLITICAL GROUPS, AND COMMUNAL GROUPS, ACCORDING TO THE AUTHOR. DETAILS ARE GIVEN ON THE OBJECTIVES OF TERRORISTS....BDS
