THIS PAPER EXAMINES THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PROGRAM FOR MICROWAVE AND ULTRASONIC MOTION DETECTION.
Abstract
THIS REPORT PRESENTS PROPOSED PERFORMANCE STANDARDS FOR ULTRASONIC AND MICROWAVE DETECTORS AND DESCRIBES THE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WHICH LED TO THE THE PROPOSED STANDARDS. THE STANDARDS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO ENSURE ADEQUATE FALSE ALARM REJECTION CAPABILITY, SAFE OPERATION, AND CONSTANCY OF PROTECTION LEVEL UNDER ADVERSE OPERATING CONDITIONS. THE FALSE ALARM REJECTION TESTS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED TO SIMULATE A REALISTIC, WORSE CASE ENVIRONMENT CREATED BY A POOR INSTALLATION. REQUIREMENTS HAVE BEEN SET FORTH TO ENSURE OPERATIONAL SAFETY FOR BOTH THE OPERATORS OF THE DETECTORS AND THE BUILDINGS IN WHICH THEY WILL BE INSTALLED. OTHER TESTS HAVE BEEN SPECIFIED TO ENSURE FOR RELIABLE, CONTINUOUS PROTECTION OF AN AREA UNDER NORMAL AND STRESSED ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS.(AUTHOR ABSTRACT)....BDS
