THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES THE MOTIVATION OF TERRORISTS AND ANNUAL TRENDS IN TERRORISM: BARRICADE AND HOSTAGE SITUATIONS, KIDNAPPING, SKYJACKINGS, BOMBINGS, ARMED ATTACKS, MURDER AND ASSASSINATION, AND SABOTAGE. A BREAKDOWN IS GIVEN OF THE GEOGRAPHIC AREAS WHERE TERRORISTS HAVE CARRIED OUT THEIR ACTS. THE NUMBER OF CASUALTIES FROM TERRORISTS ACTS IS LISTED BEGINNING IN 1968. THE VICTIMS OF TERRORIST ACTS IS ALSO LISTED BY RELIGION AND NATIONALITY. A RUNDOWN IS INCLUDED OF THE VARIOUS GROUPS THAT HAVE CLAIMED RESPONSIBILITY FOR TERRORIST ACTS.
