THIS PAPER EXPLORES THE USE OF STUDY-RELEASE AS AN EFFECTIVE REHABILITATIVE APPROACH DESIGNED TO FACILITATE THE RETURN OF PARTICIPATING OFFENDERS TO THE COMMUNITY IN AN ATMOSPHERE CONDUCIVE TO REHABILITATION.
Abstract
THE AUTHORS SURVEY THE STATES TO DETERMINE WHICH AND TO WHAT EXTENT THEY OFFER STUDY-RELEASE TO OFFENDERS. THEY FIND THAT THERE IS A TREND TOWARD AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF CORRECTIONAL DEPARTMENTS OFFERING SUCH PROGRAMS; HOWEVER, VERY LITTLE EFFORT HAS BEEN MADE TO ASCERTAIN PROGRAM OUTCOME....TWH
