THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE PROGRESS THE MAINE ADMINISTRATIVE COURT OFFICE HAS BEEN MAKING IN THE DELIVERY OF SERVICES.
Abstract
THE OFFICE OF THE STATE COURT ADMINISTRATOR HAS BEEN ACTIVELY ENGAGED SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN A REMARKABLY WIDE RANGE OF JUDICIAL ADMINISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS. PROGRESS HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANT IN SEVERAL AREAS, NOTABLY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT, PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION, FISCAL OPERATIONS, PLANNING, LIAISON SERVICES, AND TO LESSER EXTENTS IN MANAGEMENT INFORMATION, FACILITIES MANAGEMENT AND JURY MANAGEMENT. IN THESE LATTER AREAS PLANNING IS UNDERWAY AND, WITH ADDITIONAL STAFF, RESOURCES AND TIME SHOULD YIELD RESULTS BENEFICIAL TO THE COURTS AND CITIZENS OF MAINE. IMPROVEMENTS IN THE DELIVERY OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES, PARTICULARLY AT THE REGIONAL OFFICES, WILL DEPEND UPON THE GROWTH IN THE COMPETENCIES OF REGIONAL ADMINISTRATORS AND IN THE WILLINGNESS OF THE STATE COURT ADMINISTRATOR TO CONFER UPON THEM WIDER RESPONSIBILITIES.
