THIS MANUAL PROVIDES A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT A BASIC KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 8TH GRADE LAW-FOCUSED EDUCATION PROGRAM.
Abstract
THE MANUAL IS DESIGNED TO HELP LOCAL SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WORK TOGETHER TO FAMILIARIZE YOUNG PEOPLE WITH THE PROCESS OF LAW, THE ROLE OF THE POLICE OFFICER, AND THE MANNER IN WHICH THE CITIZEN CAN ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SOCIETY IN WHICH HE LIVES. A POLICE OFFICER IS CHOSEN TO PRESENT THE LAW EDUCATION PROGRAM TO THE STUDENTS. THE GUIDE SUGGESTS HOW TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM AND PROVIDES PROGRAMS IN GRADE LEVEL SEQUENCE, INCLUDING SUGGESTIONS FOR POSSIBLE PROGRAMS AT THE SECONDARY LEVEL. THE MANUAL CONTAINS A PROGRAM REVIEW INTENDED TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL INVOLVED SCHOOL PERSONNEL, A CLASSROOM SCHEDULE SHEET, AND A TEACHER FEEDBACK SHEET.
