OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES IN THIS DOCUMENT REPRESENT OKLAHOMA'S COMPLIANCE WITH THE FEDERAL REGISTER REGULATIONS OF JUNE 1975. THESE STANDARDS APPLY TO ALL CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION STYSTEMS FUNDED BY LEAA.
Abstract
THE PLAN ALSO SPECIFIES TO WHICH EXTENT THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA IS COMPLYING WITH THE REGULATIONS AND THE STEPS THE STATE WILL TAKE TO CONFORM TO ALL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS BY DECEMBER 1977. THE INTENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE REGULATION IS TO PROTECT THE PRIVACY OF INDIVIDUALS AND ENSURE THE SECURITY OF CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORD INFORMATION FROM INAPPROPRIATE ACCESS AND USE. EACH STATE IS REQUIRED TO DEVELOP THE PROCEDURAL MEANS AND REGULATIONS REQUIRED BY THEIR OWN ENVIRONMENT. THE PLAN'S COMPONENTS INCLUDE CENTRAL STATE REPOSITORY, DISPOSITION REPORTING, DISSEMINATION LIMITATION, ACCESS AND REVIEW, AND CERTIFICATION. THE STATE PLAN STRIVES TO EXTEND THESE REGULATIONS TO LOCAL AGENCIES AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.
