Abstract
THE HISTORY OF THE JUDICIAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING COMMITTEE TO THE GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATURE OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS IS BRIEFLY SUMMARIZED. IN ADDITION TO ITS ADVISORY AND COORDINATING WORK, THE COMMITTEE PARTICIPATED IN 1977 WORKSHOPS ON JUROR UTILIZATION AND MANAGEMENT AND ON SENTENCING GUIDELINES. REPRESENTATIVES OF THE APPELLATE COURTS AND PROSECUTION AND DEFENSE ELEMENTS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE GROUP. TYPES OF PROJECTS WHICH MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR GRANTS ARE DESCRIBED. DETAILS OF MORE THAN 200 LEAA-FUNDED PROJECTS ARE GIVEN, AND A SUMMARY IS PRESENTED OF LEAA-FUNDED COURT PROJECTS IN CALIFORNIA DURING 1969-1977. (GLR)
