THE CALIFORNIA AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR IDENTIFYING EFFECTIVE CRIME CONTROL TECHNIQUES AND PROGRAMS AND FOR AIDING IN THEIR REPLICATION DOCUMENTS ITS ACTIVITIES IN THIS REPORT.
Abstract
AN OVERVIEW OF CALIFORNIA'S OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING DESCRIBES THE GOALS, OBJECTIVES, WORKLOADS, AND ACTIVITIES OF THE OFFICE'S DIVISIONS, WITH EMPHASIS ON THE BRANCHES OF THE RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE DIVISION (RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, CRIMINAL JUSTICE RESEARCH INFORMATION PROJECT, SYSTEMS DATA SERVICES, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER). THE OBJECTIVES OF THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PROGRAM ARE SPECIFIED, AND THE CRITERIA BY WHICH THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE PROGRAM IS MEASURED ARE NOTED. REASONS FOR CREATING THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PROGRAM ARE DISCUSSED, AND THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER BRANCH'S WORKLOAD IS CALCULATED. JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR POSITIONS WITHIN THE BRANCH ARE PRESENTED, AND THE BENEFIT OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER ACTIVITIES TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA IS DISCUSSED. THE BRANCH'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE 3 MONTHS FOLLOWING ITS ESTABLISHMENT IN JANUARY 1975 ARE NOTED. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING MODEL PROJECT RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BRANCH ARE GIVEN, TOGETHER WITH A REPORT ON A COURT REFERRAL PROJECT RECOMMENDED FOR CONSIDERATION AS A MODEL PROJECT. A 1974 REPORT ON THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF CALIFORNIA'S LOCAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES IS ALSO INCLUDED. (LKM)
