Abstract
CITATIONS OF JOURNAL, MONOGRAPHIC, PUBLIC EDUCATION, AND REPORT LITERATURE ARE ARRANGED ALPHABETICALLY BY AUTHOR WITHIN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: (1) ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN AND MODIFICATION -- PHYSICAL AND SOCIAL CONDITIONS WHICH PROMOTE CITIZEN SURVEILLANCE, DECREASE CRIMES OF OPPORTUNITY, AND GENERALLY SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT IN RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENTS, BUSINESS DISTRICTS, TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES, SCHOOLS, AND PUBLIC PLACES; (2) MEDICAL AMD PSYCHOLOGICAL INTERVENTION -- TECHNIQUES BEING USED OR EXPERIMENTED WITH TO MODIFY OR CONTROL BEHAVIOR, INCLUDING PSYCHOSURGERY, CHEMICAL THERAPY, AND AVERSIVE CONDITIONING; (3) COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT -COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE AND STRENGTHEN THE CITIZEN'S OR COMMUNITY'S RESOURCES AND CAPACITIES TO DEAL WITH TROUBLE ON AN INFORMAL BASIS OUTSIDE THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE, HEALTH, OR WELFARE SYSTEMS; (4) POLICE INVOLVEMENT -- RESPONSE, REFERRAL, PREVENTION, PUBLIC EDUCATION, CRIME SOLVING, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT; AND (5) LAW REFORM -- NEW CONCEPTS OF LAW RESPONSIBLE TO THE CHANGING NEEDS OF CANADIAN SOCIETY AND OF INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS OF THAT SOCIETY.
