THE REPORT OPENS WITH STATISTICS ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS BY INSTITUTIONS WITHIN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, ON SPECIAL INTEREST AND COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS, AND ON INTERAGENCY COOPERATION AND THE INVOLVEMENT OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE AGENCIES IN THE DEPARTMENT'S PROGRAMS. THE BULK OF THE REPORT CONSISTS OF DESCRIPTIVE SUMMARIES FOR SPECIFIC INSTITUTIONAL PROGRAMS WITHIN THE GENERAL CATEGORIES OF ACADEMIC EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING, LIBRARY, LEGAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES, PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES, RECREATION, RELIGIOUS SERVICES, SPECIAL INTEREST, AND CLASSIFICATION AND PAROLE.
