THE PRIVATE SECURITY STANDARDS AND GOALS DEVELOPED BY THE PRIVATE SECURITY TASK FORCE OF THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE STANDARDS AND GOALS ARE PRESENTED, ALONG WITH SUMMARIES OF THEIR INTENT.
Abstract
THE 11 SECTIONS OF THIS DIGEST CONTAIN A COMPLETE LIST OF THE 83 STANDARDS AND GOALS RECOMMENDED BY THE TASK FORCE AND SYNOPSIS OF THE TASK FORCE'S COMMENTARY. THE DIGEST CONDENSES THE 580-PAGE REPORT OF THE TASK FORCE INTO A CONCISE PRESENTATION COVERING THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: PERSONNEL SELECTION, PERSONNEL TRAINING, CONDUCT AND ETHICS, CONSUMERS OF SECURITY SERVICES, HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, STATE REGULATORY BOARDS, LICENSING, AND THE REGISTRATION OF SECURITY PERSONNEL. THE STANDARDS AND GOALS ARE DIRECTED TO THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY, EMPLOYERS, AND EMPLOYEES, AND TO PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS, EDUCATORS, CONSUMERS, AND FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. TABULAR DATA AND A CHART LISTING THE VARIOUS FIELDS OF INTEREST (I.E., ALARM SYSTEM AND PERSONNEL, DETECTIVES AND INVESTIGATORS, LEAA, SECURITY CONSULTANTS) AND THE CORRESPONDING STANDARDS AND GOALS ARE PROVIDED.
