Abstract
THE PROGRAM, PART OF PROJECT OUTREACH, BEGAN IN 1976. AT THAT TIME VICTIM INFORMATION WAS KEPT ON FILE CARDS. AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF PERSONS SERVED AND THE INCREASING COMPLEXITY OF REQUIRED SERVICES MADE SUCH RECORDKEEPING INADEQUATE. THIS REPORT DESCRIBES COMPUTERIZATION OF VICTIM DATA AND DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION FORMS AND REFERRAL FORMS TO STANDARDIZE DATA GATHERED. VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORMS WERE REDESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE SCREENING PROCESS AND TRAINING WAS IMPROVED. STAFF CONTROLS WERE ALSO INITIATED. CHARTS PRESENT MONTHLY PROGRAM STATISTICS. THE NARRATIVE SUMMARY DESCRIBESS CHANGES MADE. THE MAJOR PROBLEMS FACING THE PROGRAM ARE DEFINED AS THE RECRUITMENT OF QUALITY VOLUNTEERS AND SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO HANDLE MINOR COMPENSATION. (GLR)
