Abstract
THE MAPS ARE PART OF A SERIES INTENDED AS A PLANNING AID FOR GOVERNMENT, BUSINESSES, AND PRIVATE CITIZENS. THE MAPS REFLECT POLICE DISPATCH REPORT DATA FOR SPECIFIC NEIGHBORHOODS (POLICE BEATS) DURING THE TWO REPORTING PERIODS. TWO MAPS SHOW SUMMARY DISPATCH DATA FOR EACH YEAR. OTHER MAPS SHOW THE GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION OF SPECIFIC TYPES OF CRIME OR POLICE RESPONSE CATEGORIES. EACH SET OF MAPS IS ACCOMPANIED BY A DEFINITION OF THE CRIME OR RESPONSE CATEGORY, A GRAPH SHOWING 1976 DATA AS PERCENTAGES OF 1975 DATA, AND A BRIEF NARRATIVE COMPARISON OF THE TWO PERIODS. THE COMPARISONS ALSO REFER TO DISPATCH PATTERNS BY TIME OF DAY, DAY OF WEEK, MONTH OF YEAR, AND SHIFT, BREAKDOWNS OF WHICH ARE DETAILED IN APPENDED TABLES.
