Abstract
RANDOMIZED EXPERIMENTS ARE DEFINED AS SITUATIONS IN WHICH MEMBERS OF A SPECIFIED TARGET POPULATION ARE RANDOMLY ALLOCATED TO ONE OF TWO OR MORE TREATMENT PROGRAMS OR PROGRAM VARIATIONS. SYSTEMATIC OBSERVATIONS ARE MADE ON THE TARGET POPULATION'S RESPONSE TO TREATMENT. THE CONTENTS OF THE BIBLIOGRAPHY SERVE AS EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE FOR THE CONTENTION THAT RANDOMIZED EXPERIMENTAL TESTS ARE FEASIBLE IN A VARIETY OF PROGRAM SETTINGS.
