MANAGEMENT OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES FOR THE POLICE FORCE IN THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS, ARE OUTLINED TOGETHER WITH A COURSE OF ACTION TO ACHIEVE THOSE OBJECTIVES.
Abstract
THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF THE MANAGEMENT PROCESS ARE PREPARATION, POLICYMAKING, EXECUTION, AND EVALUATION. THE CONDITIONS ESSENTIAL FOR POSITIVE MANAGEMENT ARE INFORMATION EXCHANGE, HIGH VISIBILITY, AND THOROUGH PLANNING. THE GROWTH OF THE POLICE FORCE IN THE HAGUE NECESSITATED THE INCORPORATION OF CONSCIOUS DEVELOPMENT AND PLANNING IN ITS MANAGEMENT POLICIES. A TASK FORCE WAS APPOINTED BY THE POLICE COMMISSIONER TO EXPLORE OPTIMUM AVENUES FOR DEVELOPMENT, USING EACH OF THE COMPONENTS AND CONDITIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE MANAGEMENT PROCESS. THE COURSE OF ACTION TAKEN BY THE TASK FORCE AND THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE POLICE FORCE IN THE HAGUE ARE DESCRIBED WITH FLOW CHARTS AND TABLES ILLUSTRATING THE TEXT. --IN DUTCH. (WVK)
