A QUESTION AND ANSWER MANUAL INTENDED FOR REVOLUTIONARY GROUPS GIVES PRACTICAL AID AND OUTLINES THE TRAINING RECEIVED BY CASTRO AND OTHER LATIN AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARIES.
Abstract
THE WRITINGS OF GENERAL ALBERTO BAYO, TEACHER OF FIDEL CASTRO, ARE TRANSLATED AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE TYPE OF TRAINING RECEIVED BY LATIN AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARIES. A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF GENERAL BAYO, AND A HISTORY OF THE REVOLUTION IN CUBA, ARE FOLLOWED BY THE QUESTION AND ANSWER MANUAL. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE DIRECTED TO THE MASSES OF PEASANTS WHO WOULD MOST LIKELY BE THE FOLLOWERS OF REVOLUTION BUT WHO ARE LIKELY TO HAVE LITTLE MILITARY TRAINING. THE INSTRUCTIONS SEEK TO INTEGRATE POLITICAL INDOCTRINATION AND EMOTIONALISM WITH ELEMENTARY MILITARY INSTRUCTION. TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE REASONS FOR GUERRILLA WARFARE AND THE PREREQUISITES FOR JOINING A GUERRILLA BAND, DUTIES FOR VOLUNTEERS OF BOTH SEXES, MANUFACTURE OF WEAPONS, FORMATION OF SABOTAGE SECTIONS, TRAINING OF VOLUNTEERS, CARE OF THE SICK, AND METHODS OF DEALING WITH THE LOCAL POPULATION. SIMPLE DRAWINGS ILLUSTRATE THE MANUFACTURE OF WEAPONS AND PROCEDURES FOR SABOTAGE. (RFC)
