Abstract
THE PALESTINE LIBERATION ORGANIZATION (PLO) IS DESCRIBED AS THE UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION FOR ALL THE OTHER GROUPS. ITS ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE IS DETAILED, ALONG WITH ITS FUNCTIONS WITH REGARD TO THE OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THE PALESTINIAN ORGANIZATIONS ARE EL FATAH, POPULAR FRONT FOR THE LIBERATION OF PALESTINE, SAIQA, POPULAR FRONT-GENERAL COMMAND, AND ARAB LIBERATION FRONT. EACH ONE OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS IS PLACED CHRONOLOGICALLY AND IDEOLOGICALLY INTO THE STRUCTURE OF THE OVERALL PALESTINIAN MOVEMENT. BRIEF HISTORIES, NAMES OF LEADERS, AND OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED FOR EACH ORGANIZATION. IN ADDITION, THE COUNTRIES IN WHICH EACH ORGANIZATION IS MOST POWERFUL ARE IDENTIFIED. (AOP)
