Abstract
BEGINNING WITH AN ORGANIZATION CHART AND STATISTICS ON PERSONNEL, THE REPORT SUMMARIZES DATA ON BUDGETS, EQUIPMENT, ARRESTS, TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, AND FIRES. DETAILED INFORMATION FOLLOWS ON INCIDENTS AND ARRESTS FOR CLASS I AND CLASS II CRIMES ALONG WITH TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, VIOLATIONS, FATALITIES, AND INJURIES. FIRE SERVICES ARE CATEGORIZED ACCORDING TO BUILDING AND OTHER TYPES OF FIRES, RESCUE SERVICES, PROPERTY AND PERSONNEL LOSSES, AND PREVENTION ACTIVITIES. COMPARATIVE STATISTICS ON ALL ACTIVITIES ARE PROVIDED FOR 1978 AND 1979. TABLES PRESENT A COMPARATIVE SUMMARY FROM 1970 THROUGH 1979 FOR POLICE ARRESTS, MAJOR CRIMES, AND BROAD CATEGORIES OF DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITY. BAR GRAPHS ILLUSTRATE THE PERCENTAGE OF CHANGE DURING THIS PERIOD. DETAILED CRIME AND ARREST BREAKDOWNS INCLUDE DATA ON VALUE LOSS, CRIMES NOT INVOLVING VALUE LOSS, JUVENILE ARRESTS, ADULT FELONIES, AND ADULT MISDEMEANORS.
