A SON'S HOMECOMING, HIS CONFLICT BETWEEN SEEING OLD FRIENDS AND OBSERVING PROBATION RESTRICTIONS, AND HIS FEELINGS TOWARD HIS PARENTS ARE DRAMATIZED IN THIS 27-MINUTE FILM.
Abstract
THE FILM SHOWS THE IMPACT ON A FAMILY OF A SON RETURNING HOME ON PROBATION. IT EXPLORES THE SON'S, FRANKIE'S, ANGER TOWARD HIS FATHER, THE SISTER'S CONCERN FOR HER BROTHER'S WELFARE, AND THE PROBATION OFFICER'S DEMAND THAT FRANKIE STICK TO HIS PROBATION REQUIREMENTS. IN A DRAMATIC DENOUEMENT, FRANKIE OVERDOSES ON DRUGS, IS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, AND IS TOLD BY HIS PROBATION OFFICER THAT HIS FATHER HAS BEATEN UP HIS FRIENDS IN ORDER TO SAVE HIS LIFE. THE FILM ENDS WITH A RECONCILIATION BETWEEN FATHER AND SON. (AOP)
