THIS SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY ADDRESSES THE TOPIC OF CRIME AND THE ELDERLY, AND LISTS PROJECTS AND LITERATURE CONCERNING SENIOR CITIZENS.
Abstract
WHILE THE BIBLIOGRAPHY IS PRIMARILY FOR SENIOR CITIZENS, IT IS ALSO DESIGNED TO BE A RESOURCE TO RESEARCHERS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE PERSONNEL, HOUSING ADMINISTRATORS, CITY PLANNERS, AND STUDENTS WORKING WITH AND FOR THE ELDERLY. THE APPROXIMATELY 290 CITATIONS INCLUDE BOOKS, REPORTS, PAPERS, CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS, BIBLIOGRAPHIES, THESES, DISSERTATIONS, ARTICLES, AND AUDIOVISUALS AND CASSETTE TAPES. PUBLICATIONS DATE MOSTLY FROM THE 1970'S, WITH A FEW FROM THE 1960'S, AND ONE ARTICLE EACH FROM 1941 AND 1936. THE CITATIONS ARE AIMED AT PROVIDING THE READER WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE KINDS OF PROBLEMS THE ELDERLY HAVE, WHY THESE PROBLEMS EXIST AND HOW THEY ARE PERPETUATED, AND HOW TO HELP THE ELDERLY TO PREVENT THEIR OWN VICTIMIZATION. ADDITIONALLY, A LIST OF AGENCIES IS PROVIDING INFORMATION, FUNDING, AND SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY IS SUPPLIED.
