Abstract
THE LIST WAS COMPILED FROM A MONTHLY COLUMN APPEARING SINCE 1971 IN 'SECURITY DISTRIBUTING AND MARKETING' MAGAZINE. THE CONTRIBUTIONS, COLLECTED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN BOOKLET FORM, COVER A WIDE RANGE OF INSTALLATION, SERVICING AND TROUBLESHOOTING SITUATIONS, INCLUDING WAYS TO LOCATE 'OPENS' AND 'SWINGERS'; IMPROVISED TESTING DEVICES AND PROCEDURES; TECHNIQUES TO MAKE LONG WIRING EASIER; SHORT-CUTS TO INSTALLATION PROBLEMS; AND ELIMINATION OF COMMON CAUSES OF FALSE ALARMS. SOME AREAS COVERED ARE AUTOMOBILE ALARMS, FIRE ALARMS, KEY SWITCHES, PANIC ALARMS, SERVICE TIPS, TRANSMITTER SECRET CODE, AND WIRELESS SYSTEMS. THE SUBJECTS HAVE BEEN GROUPED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER.
