Abstract
THE WORKBOOK IS A PAGE BY PAGE REPRINT OF THE POPULAR TEXT ISSUED TO BOSTON RECRUITS AND COVERS THE FOLLOWING MAJOR SECTIONS: (1) BILL OF RIGHTS AND ITS IMPACT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, (2) CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LIABILITY OF POLICE OFFICERS, (3) ARRESTS, (4) THRESHOLD INQUIRIES, AND (5) THE OATH TAKEN BY POLICE OFFICERS. THE PRESENTATION OF MATERIAL VARIES FROM A DIRECT EXPOSITION OF RELEVANT FACTS TO AN APPROACH WITH PRELIMINARY STUDY QUESTIONS THAT ARE SUBSEQUENTLY ANSWERED AND EXPLAINED. THE TEXT IS ILLUSTRATED BY SEVERAL VISUAL AID CHARTS AND INCLUDES NUMEROUS REVIEW QUESTIONS FOR EACH SECTION COVERED. A SUMMARY OF FACTS, ISSUES, AND DECISIONS OF 12 RELEVANT COURT CASES IS APPENDED.
