Abstract
THE BACKGROUND FOR THE PROGRAM AND THE GRANT TO FUND THE PROGRAM ARE DESCRIBED. BRIEF SYNOPSES DEPICIT THE SEVEN COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAM: THE FAMILY COURT STATUS OFFENDER UNIT, THE DIVISION OF SOCIAL SERVICES STATUS OFFENDER UNIT, THE CHILD ADVOCATE SERVICE, SHELTER CARE, LONG TERM GROUP FOSTER CARE, DIAGNOSTIC/EVALUATION SERVICE, AND FAMILY COUNSELING. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND TIME GRANTED TO EACH UNIT ARE ALSO RELATED. FURTHER INFORMATION ON THE GRANTS DEAL WITH SOME ADVISORY BOARD DETAILS AND GRANT STIPULATIONS. TABLES SHOW EXPENDITURES PER PROJECT COMPONENT, THE NUMBER OF STATUS OFFENDERS IN PROGRAM SERVICES BY MONTH, THE RACE AND SEX OF STATUS OFFENDERS BY COUNTY, MONTHLY DETENTION POPULATIONS OF STATUS OFFENDERS FOR 1976-77, AND THE AVERAGE LENGHTH OF TIME STATUS OFFENDERS WERE DETAINED FOR 1975-77 BEFORE AND AFTER THE PROJECT WAS STARTED IN JUNE 1975. DATA ARE PROVIDED ON THE STATUS OFFENDER POPULATION IN TERMS OF AGE COMPOSITION, SCHOOL STATUS, GRADE COMPOSITION, STATUS OF CLIENT'S PARENTS, TYPE OF OFFENSE, AND NEED OF SERVICES ASSESSMENT. A FLOW CHART SHOWS THE MOVEMENT OF STATUS OFFENDERS THROUGH THE SYSTEM.
