THE STANDARDS AND ACCREDITATION OF THE AMERICAN CORRECTIONAL ASSOCIATION AND THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JUVENILE AND FAMILY COURT JUDGES ARE DISCUSSED.
Abstract
A CONSULTANT FOR THE AMERICAN CORRECTIONAL ASSOCIATION REVIEWS THE ADVANTAGES OF ACCREDITATION FOR CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES. THEN, A JUVENILE COURT JUDGE EXPLAINS THAT ACCREDITATION OF JUVENILE COURTS THROUGH THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JUVENILE AND FAMILY COURT JUDGES INVOLVES BOTH A SELF-APPRAISAL BY A COURT AND AN APPRAISAL BY A COUNCIL STAFF MEMBER USING 230 STANDARDS SELECTED BY JUVENILE COURT JUDGES. THE AUDIOTAPE CASSETTE IS INTENDED FOR CORRECTIONAL AND COURT PROFESSIONALS. A TABLE OF CONTENTS IS INCLUDED, BUT OTHER SUPPORTING MATERIALS ARE NOT PROVIDED.
