The data are arranged in individual sections which focus on a comparative summary for calendar years 1977 through 1979, department resources, firearms registration, crimes and clearances, police districts, adult and juvenile arrests and dispositions, and motor vehicle accidents. In summary, 72 Part I Offenses and 98 Part II Offenses per 1,000 population were recorded in 1979. Of these, 20.7 percent of the Part I Offenses and 73.6 percent of the Part II Offenses were cleared. Furthermore, 28.4 percent of the property reported stolen was recovered, and 4,071 of 5,732 stolen automobiles were retrieved. Data are presented in tabular and graphic form, and maps of police districts are included.
