Ohio juvenile court statistics for 1975 are presented.
Abstract
Ohio's juvenile courts are required by law to keep records and prepare annual reports of their cases disposed during the year. The contents of this report reflect the provisions of the 1969 juvenile court law that requires the separation of 'unruly' cases from delinquent cases. Unruly cases involve truancy, being ungovernable, running away, consent for early marriage, conditions injurious of morals, and various other violations of laws applicable only to children. Thus, six broad categories of cases are considered: delinquency, dependency and neglect, special service, juvenile traffic, unruly, and adult cases. Tables and charts present data on cases disposed by type of case, age, reason for referral, sex, type of disposition, previous court experience, and by race. A glossary of terms used in the report is appended.
