Covering the period 1969 to 1978, this annotated bibliography contains approximately 740 references to literature relating to computer applications in areas that lawyers are likely to encounter in practicing law.
Abstract
Most items are part of the collection of the Canadian Law Information Council in Ottawa, Canada. The bibliography does not include references to literature related to legal aspects of computer use, criminal justice information systems and data banks, or use of the scientific method in research in the field of law. Also excluded are legal research handbooks and user manuals for specific law information systems. The references are divided into nine sections, including general works related to computer applications in law, computer-assisted legal research/information retrieval, litigation support, law office management, court administration, legislative systems (procedures), land and property registration, other applications, and lawyer/computer interface. Within sections, the citations are arranged chronologically and then alphabetically by author. Items are individually numbered and occasionally appear in more than one section. Most documents are in English, but some French and German literature has been reviewed if the material is available in either French or English. Three indexes--author, project/system, and geographic--are included. Availability and pricing information is not given.
