Information is provided on local law enforcement agencies in Washington State for the year 1980.
Abstract
Information is broken down by the size of the city and by county. The information provided includes population served, number of personnel with arrest authority (number of males and females), and number of personnel with limited enforcement or civilian responsibility (men and women). Also included are the number of officers who left the department in 1979, noting those who left to work in private industry, those who left to work for other law enforcement agencies, the number of officers who left within 1 year after successful academy completion, and the number of officers who left on disability retirement, nonduty disability, and normal retirement. The increase or decrease in the number of personnel is indicated, along with assignments of commissioned and noncommissioned personnel, and the number of Comprehensive Employment Training Act employees. Minimum education requirement, age requirements, and examination requirements are noted for personnel; programs of training and education are described. Also provided are personnel fringe benefits, monthly salaries, 1980 budget, Washington State patrol salaries, University of Washington police department salaries, and Port of Seattle Police Department salaries.
