Abstract
Built on sound management techniques, this comprehensive corporate and industrial security program is specifically oriented to loss prevention; to protection of employees and physical assets; and to protection of personal and corporate integrity, reputations, proprietary information, and other intangible yet real assets. Starting with a blueprint for successfully establishing the security function as a genuine, legitimate part of the organization, the book outlines the needs and procedures for security executive and personnel development. It compares outside contract services with an internal security staff, presents an indepth survey procedure for developing a corporate security profile, and examines the special concerns of companies operating in foreign countries. Further, it gives detailed guidelines for setting up effective emergency preparedness, personnel protection, physical security, fire protection, and accident prevention programs. Special chapters discuss security investigation, safeguarding company information, espionage prevention, and communications security. Appendixes include a security survey questionnaire, a physical security survey checklist, and policy guidelines for employee participation in meetings held in or sponsored by Communist nations. Illustrations and a subject index are provided. (Author Abstract Modified).
