THE ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE SALT LAKE CITY CRIME AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION UNIT ARE EVALUATED.
Abstract
THE UNIT DEVELOPED A SERIES OF PROGRAMS FOR TRAINING YOUTH BUREAU OFFICERS, COUNSELING DELINQUENT CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS, ESTABLISHING WALK-IN COUNSELING CLINICS, FORMULATING COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAMS, AND SPEAKING BEFORE COMMUNITY GROUPS. 'THE PREVENTION UNIT HAS STRIVED TO COORDINATE THE EFFORTS OF ALL AGENCIES, CHURCHES, SCHOOLS, AND THE TOTAL COMMUNITY IN THE AREA OF CRIME AND DELINQUENCY PPEVENTION. THIS COORDINATION HAS HELPED ELIMINATE SOME OF THE OVERLAPPING OF PREVENTION PROGRAMS, SERVICES, AND FUNCTIONS.
