The bibliography was developed through a search of the National Technical Information Service data base from 1978 through May 1980. Topics included are new types of police equipment, studies on patrol cars, computer models of patrol allocations, child abuse reporting, crisis intervention, dispatch policies, the occupational socialization of police, and other subjects. The studies are intended for use by police departments, urban planners, and others interested in the police function. For each document, the source, subject categories, index terms, and identifying terms are presented. Other information provided includes the report data, corporate author, sponsoring agency, number of pages, and ordering information.
