Eight seminars on alcohol and highway safety which were sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 1975 and 1976 are described in this final report.
Abstract
The short seminars were developed by Indiana University and conducted for 15 to 25 local alcohol countermeasures personnel at the following sites: Kansas City, Mo., Phoenix, Ariz., Sacramento, Calif., Salt Lake City; Springfield, Ill., Memphis, Tenn., Boise, Idaho, and Mississippi State University. Training was provided in the techniques and procedures for investigating, referring and controlling drinking drivers according to the nature of their drinking problems. Although the same basic curriculum package was used for each seminar, the materials were adapted to the needs of the participants at each location. For each seminar, a list of objectives, samples of correspondence, commentary, and a list of participants and resource people are provided.
