As part of the division's educational program, more than 10,000 senior citizens attended consumer protection meetings conducted by the attorney general and his staff. The activities of the Consumer Protection Division were further publicized by the distribution of a popular book entitled 'Consumer Protection in Kansas' to more than 10,000 Kansans. Also, the division continued its circulation of a popular 30-minute film entitled 'On Guard,' which was shown to more than 150 audiences throughout Kansas. It was estimated that as many as 25,000 Kansans contacted the Consumer Protection Division by telephone during 1978 to request assistance and information about consumer protection. Following a nine-page summary of selected cases handled by the division's attorneys, statistics are provided on the disposition of cases received and closed in 1978.
