This film introduces the work of the police officer to a primary grade audience by showing police officers at the scene of a traffic accident, an armed robbery incident, and a heart attack incident.
Abstract
The audience rides in a police cruiser with Officer Stark as he describes the wide range of work performed by police officers. The viewer watches police officers rush medicine to an injured person, provide a police escort for a funeral procession, give directions to an out-of-town visitor, and patrol a business district at night. Police teamwork is also shown in an armed robbery incident in which police, detectives, and a police dispatcher obtain information about the robbery and search for the getaway van. Varied aspects of police training are described briefly. The film emphasizes that police work is hard and dangerous, but also interesting.
