This collection of papers presented at the 1979 'Project 48' Seminar, held at the Australian Institute of Criminolgy is structured around the main theme of legal and law-related education at all levels.
Abstract
The seminar's objectives included assessment of the state of legal education on a national basis; development of a list selected, currently-available resources for teaching legal and law-related subjects in schools; and a discussion of proposals for the future development of legal and law-related education in Australia. Within the conceptual framework provided by the seminar's objectives, individual papers covered such topics as community legal education and law reform; the role of the Australian Institute of Criminology; and teacher education. A description of a high school education law project is presented, as is an overview of legal and law-related education in Queensland and Western Australia; legal studies in secondary schools, technical schools, and technical and further education in Victoria, and law-related education in South Australia. Resolutions and a list of seminar participants are appended.
