Public and private funding sources for criminal justice education programs are listed, along with information on supplemental source materials and grant writing techniques.
Abstract
This inventory begins with 28 private foundations which offer general grants. Funding sources restricted to specific States are given separately and include Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas, and combined Southern States. Finally, project grants available from the following Federal agencies are described: Community Services Administration; Department of Health, Education, and Welfare; Department of Housing and Urban Development; Law Enforcement Assistance Administration; Department of Labor; and the National Institute of Education. Each entry provides the address and telephone of the funding source and summarizes its scope of operations. Additional data covers eligibility requirements, application procedures, deadlines, range of grant amounts, and contact person (if available). The Appendixes contain references on location and applying for grants, as well as an outline of grant writing considerations.
