The purpose of the work is to advance cross-agency information sharing, promote an awareness of existing facilities and programs to reduce duplication of effort, and encourage integrated criminal justice planning. Approximately 1,000 entries are arranged into subject area categories, which focus on law enforcement, judicial organizations, corrections, juvenile justice, victim services and hot lines, and Federal offices. Each chapter is organized hierarchically according to State, district, county, and municipal agencies. Each listing includes the agency name, address, zip code, and telephone number. Also included in many entries is the county in which the municipality is located. An alphabetical index of agencies and a few maps are provided.
