Annotation
Designed for the individual California police officer in a police education course, the filmstrip and accompanying audio cassette and workbook provide part one of a lesson on California criminal law regarding domestic disputes.
Abstract
The lesson teaches the officer to list the four basic legally defined needs of minor children, to identify the elements for the corpus delicti of Penal Code (PC) 270 and 272 crimes, to describe the husband's basic duties toward his wife and three lawful excuses or exceptions to the fulfillment, and to describe the basic duties of an adult-child to indigent parents and two lawful exemptions or excuses. It also teaches the officer to identify the bases for applying juvenile court jurisdiction, to determine why an immediate arrest may not be practical in some domestic disputes, and to match the PC numbers of crimes described in the lesson with descriptive phrases relating to those crimes. The cassette instructs the officer when to use the workbook and how to check the answers. The workbook includes a posttest and instructor's answer key. For part two, see NCJRS 75369.
