These hypothetical Equal Employment Opportunity problem situations for police departments are intended for small group discussions.
Abstract
Information on applicable laws and court decisions accompanies each problem. The hypothetical situations concern word-of-mouth recruiting, tests for screening applicants, minimum height requirements, the hiring of women with small children, and the dismissal of pregnant employees. Others involve the use of polygraph tests for hiring, grooming standards, interference with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission investigations, and reverse discrimination. Nine study situations are included.
