This third annual report on community-based alternatives for North Carolina juveniles provides statistical analysis based on data obtained from programs participating in the community-based alternatives management information system for fiscal year 1979-1980.
Abstract
A demographic profile is provided for youth served by 233 programs under the general categories of residential, nonresidential, and school-related programs. Residential programs include group homes, special foster care, emergency group homes, and emergency foster care. Nonresidential services are counseling, combination services, adult volunteer programs, recreation, and prevention programs. School-related programs are alternative classes and an inschool suspension program. Information provided for each program type includes number of admissions and terminations; and clients' age, race, sex, referral sources, legal status, residence, referral reason, termination reason, placement after termination, and service referrals to other agencies while in the program. Budget information provides a breakdown by program type of the expenditures for programs funded in 1979-1980. Appended are an individual client tracking form, a school quarterly monitoring form, and an annual program review form. An informational pamphlet on community-based alternatives in North Carolina accompanies the report.
